The sex toy chronicles

Recently when my boyfriend was away on business I had a bunch of friends over for a girl’s night out. The topic came round to sex as it always done when you combine women and margaritas, which then led to jokes about my gigantic sex toy collection and demands that I show them. Before you knew it there were a bunch of tipsy women sitting in my lounge room passing around my sex toy collection. Now before you get carried away and start imagining an all-girl sex toy orgy, I’m going to have to disappoint you and say nothing of the sort happened. Unfortunately. However, three things did happen. One, I know for a fact that a couple of the girls went home that night and straight onto the net to do some shopping. Two, I found out that two of the girls had never used a sex toy (or even a substitute like an electric toothbrush… sorry honey). Three, they all couldn’t believe I had so many toys. I was too embarrassed to tell them that they were only seeing a part of my collection.

For someone who has been a phone sex operator, a BDSM Mistress, and who loves talking to people about all things sexual, I still get embarrassed at how many sex toys I own. My boyfriend tells me that while some women like to buy shoes, I like to buy shoes and sex toys, but at least he gets to enjoy the latter. The reaction of people when they find out about my collection does contribute to my embarrassment. I’ve had comments that I must be a nymphomaniac to need so many toys, or that my boyfriend mustn’t be any good or otherwise I wouldn’t need them, or my personal favorite, maybe I’m an addict and can’t have sex or masturbate without sex toys. Of course there are a lot of people who think it’s great and ask for my advice, and want me to recommend them toys, or even go shopping with them.  But there’s always someone ready to judge which is probably why I held back on showing my entire collection to the girls. But don’t worry, I won’t hold back with you.

So firstly to answer the three assumptions I just mentioned:

  1. I do love sex, I do love to masturbate, but I’m not a nympho. In fact, I don’t even have sex every day.  Anyway, if I were a nympho I’m sure plastic and rubber toys wouldn’t cut it.
  2. My boyfriend is great in bed. If he wasn’t, we wouldn’t have lasted. Actually we only use sex toys maybe 25% of the time we have sex, though when we do, we use a lot more than just one, hence the sizable collection.
  3. Obviously it’s not an addiction if I can and do have sex without using sex toys. It’s the same with masturbation, though there I probably use a toy 50% of the time. Masturbation, because you are totally focused on yourself, can give you the most explosive orgasms, and I just find sex toys have a way of helping me reach new heights that my fingers alone couldn’t.

I didn’t always have such a big collection. In fact, when I met my current boyfriend I only had a couple of toys and didn’t use them much. I think over the last 5-10 years erotic toy manufacturers and retailers came to the realization that women want to purchase sex toys, so they’ve begun to focus more on thoughtful design, taking into account the female anatomy and orgasm. They also now make them so they are as nice to look at as play with.

Vibrating, multi-speed triple-action vibrator with rotating beads, and dual attachments. Tempered glass dildo with contoured shaft. Traditional vibrator covered in soft ticklers. Waterproof silicone vibrator with clitoral and g-spot stimulator Glass dildo with bulbous tip and textured shaft. Multi-function and multi-speed rabbit vibrator made of silicone Waterproof G-spot vibrator with marble look and multiple speeds Really gigantic dildo

Pretty enough to to play with.

I still remember my first vibrator. I was around 19 years old and my then-boyfriend bought it for me. I don’t know what he was thinking. It was this humongous black cock-shaped rubber vibrator. I definitely wasn’t game enough to stick it inside me, and the vibration strength and shape were not really suited to clitoral stimulation. Needless to say it was stuffed in the back of my closet eventually thrown out. The second vibrator experience occurred soon after and it had a very different outcome. This incident actually deserves its own post so I’ll just summarize by saying that I discovered the pleasures that could be had with a regular hand-held body massager, you know, the kind of appliance you get your dad for father’s day. Well, be warned: one of those suckers can have you coming in less than a minute. However, they are definitely not couple-friendly, so it did get me wondering whether I should try to find a sex toy that would give the same results.

This led to me experimenting a bit with sex toys and occasionally using them to masturbate or during sex. I guess what happened with my current boyfriend was that we had an amazing sexual chemistry and incorporating sex toys, or costumes, or porn just came naturally, and my toy collection grew from there. Either I’d hear about something new and want to try it or he’d buy something to surprise me, or sometimes we’d see a toy or equipment in a movie or just through browsing online and decide to get it. So that’s how I ended up with my gigantic sex toy collection.

Please tell me you like sex toys too ;-)
